It's still the same way. Heck my luggage from the US just arrived two weeks ago and I got here in June :-D. Although I have to say the post office back then looks more clean and organized.

Yes, that is him, I think his last name is Summerhauser, or something like that. He is American.
misiboland wrote on Sep 20, '06
Thanks Brian. Yes, I always remember him(John Summerhauser) as he was one of the tallest guy on the island. Your pictures does remind us of the good old days. Still a kid at the time but I always remember staring out of my Uncle's house(Vaiaku) watching all the Philatelic Bureau workers walking pass every morning & afternoon. All the memories starting to kick in. ahahaha!!! Regards to you and family..

You born in Funafuti too? My name is Vincent Chow and I was born in funafuti in 1980 and since then never returned back to my homeland. I've never met any family there. My mother's name is Sapeta Kofe or Elisapeta Kofe.

Talofa Brian,

I love the pictures!! Yeah, I sure feel nostalgic after seeing pictures of my island home Nauti, especially the old open airport!! I had a good laugh after seeing this pic with two of my aunties Rita & Helenoti.

I wish I had seen these pics while still in Auckland last week, so I could tease aunty Helen about her Motufoua Secondary School hairstyle. Luckily the Queen of England is a great fan of such hairstyles. hah!

Cheers!!

We remember you Vincent, you were born when we were in Tuvalu, and remember Sapeta of course. Your father was from Hong Kong or China, right? Where are you now?
