I met Punga at Houston TX, Brian. I don't quite remember what year it was, but it must be in the mid-eighties.

Hey that is real Mike, Palagi Road is up in Fakaifou, it branches east off Tuvalu Road, turns north near Mainaga Fou Church, goes past a burrow pit then turns west back to Tuvalu Road. Not too far from the hospital. Helena says palagi's used to live there way back before independence.

oh yes funafuna! karim liked funafuna when he was in tuvalu. brian, i think the name funafuna was given to that deep fried jam/jelly filled dough because it looks like a sea cucumber which is "funafuna" in the tuvaluan language. am i right, puleia?

Brian, I'm afraid I still don't have a clue. I have no idea where you call "fakaifou", or "mainanga Church or even Tu8 road. The Palangi's houses I remember were down on the lagoon side next to Vaiaku Langi Hotel. There was a road that goes by their houses which we called "Te auala ki tai" back then. As a matter of fact, those are the only roads I seem to remember, "te auala ki tai" and "te aula mai uta"...It's sad, isn't it?.

Hi Sep,
Seimeana Maneapa?. Who is it belong to?. If you are trying to confused me Sep, it's working. You and Brian have gotten me lost in my own back yard!, hahaha!..

Sorry for confusing you with the funafuna. Helena, se' kote jam doughnut? Sep is right, it shapes like sea cucumber. Is'nt that what on Brian's plate? looks like it anyway. Ma tama mo Selepa loves them when we were in Tuvalu. When we came back they insist we make them, unfortunately they don't taste the same. Ha! ha! I believe is the yeast kaleve they use for baking bread there. I heard many palangi(Australian) talks about how nice the bread in Tuvalu taste.
Maukuuku, kaati tena te igoa Tuvalu ki ei. I'm not sure.
Love to you all and have a nice day.
tofa.
